A highly attractive patinated late 19th-century antique Chinese bronze and champleve enamel vase. A solid, weighty piece of ovoid form, standing 30 cm tall and 20 cm in diameter at the shoulder. with beautiful enamel decoration in taotie, key fret and pendant shield form.
The body is in excellent condition, with no holes, scratches or dents and boasts a highly attractive patina. The enamel is in good order, showing only the usual signs of ageing with some pitting. The base, has been damaged at some point, showing a dent to the rim and the bottom of the vase has come away at some point and been re-attached, this is reflected in the price being asked. When in place, none of these imperfections detract from the beauty of this amazing piece, which looks stunning on its own or as part of a display.
